The Quags kick out the jams for a good old fashioned rock and roll show in the heart of alt-country. Kick up your boots, and shake your hips, and nothing will seem amiss.
"Out in the Community", the Quags first CD on the Paisley Pop label earned excellent critical marks in publications and media including Magnet Magazine which declared it "a near-perfect slice of power pop." It's two albums since have maintained those high standards while expanding the palette to include rootsier elements. At heart, though, the Quags are about meaty/glammy riffs, buoyant vocals and propulsive percussion, from the Kinks-meets-The Replacements thumpers to Big Star-esque tracks, all delivered without a hint of pastiche.
